The African Democratic Congress (ADC) held a vibrant reception in Gubuci, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State to welcome a wave of new members who recently decamped from various political parties to join the growing coalition opposition.
The event, which drew a large crowd of party faithful, grassroots politicians, and community leaders, was marked by speeches of hope, unity, and a renewed call for political transformation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In his keynote address, the National Vice Chairman of ADC (Northwest Zone), Mallam Jafaru Sani, praised the decampees for their bold decision to align with the ADC. He described the new year as a turning point for the party, expressing confidence that the ADC is poised to take over the reins of leadership in the next elections.
“This is just the beginning,” Mallam Jafaru declared. “We are ready to confront every challenge that comes our way. The ADC is not just a party; it is a movement of political heavyweights and patriots determined to rescue Nigeria.”
He emphasized the importance of voter registration, urging citizens to take advantage of INEC’s designated centers to secure their voter cards. He also announced that ADC’s membership registration drive would commence in the coming weeks, encouraging residents to join and demonstrate the party’s growing strength.
Hon. Samaila Aliyu Makarfi, the host of the reception, echoed the call for unity, describing it as the only viable solution to Nigeria’s numerous challenges. He lauded the ADC as a party for the courageous and selfless, committed to building a better Nigeria.
“Our women and youth must rise and take their place in this movement,” he said. “The ruling party will try to buy loyalty with money, but we must resist. Our country is not for sale.”

He emphasized the party’s commitment to inclusivity, revealing that 50% of leadership positions are reserved for youth and 35% for women.
“This is a youth driven movement,” he said. “We will not repeat the mistakes of the past. By the grace of Allah, ADC will bring dignity back to governance and uplift our farmers and communities.”
A former Senatorial candidate Alhaji Ubale Salmanduna Maiwada expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, predicting a sweeping victory over the ruling APC in both Kaduna State and at the federal level. Hon. Saidu Wada Gubuci also pledged unwavering support, stating that experienced politicians within the party are ready to give their all for ADC’s success.
