Dangote Petroleum Refinery, a subsidiary of Dangote Group, has introduced a nationwide hotline for reporting filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved price of N739 per litre at MRS stations nationwide.
The refinery, which recently began selling PMS at N739 per litre across Nigeria, urged citizens to report violations via 0800 123 5264.
The initiative aims to prevent overpricing at more than 2,000 MRS Oil Nigeria Plc stations and ensure that affordable fuel reaches every consumer.
Dangote Refinery emphasized its mission to deliver high-quality, locally refined fuel while supporting national economic interests.
With a guaranteed daily output of 50 million litres, the refinery warned against attempts to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply, describing such acts as unpatriotic and unacceptable.
Dangote said it is helping reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imports, conserve foreign exchange, stabilize the Naira, and strengthen energy security. Consumers were strongly advised to avoid purchasing overpriced fuel when cheaper, high-quality alternatives are available.
“Together, we can ensure that the benefits of this price reduction reach every Nigerian,” the refinery stated, urging vigilance during the festive season.
It encouraged Nigerians to avoid purchasing PMS at inflated prices when locally refined fuel is available at N739 per litre.
“Report any MRS station selling above this price by calling our hotline. Together, we can ensure that the benefits of this price reduction reach every consumer,” the statement added.
The refinery also reaffirmed its commitment to steady supply, backed by a guaranteed daily output of 50 million litres, and warned against attempts to create artificial scarcity or manipulate supply.
Consumers were thereby advised to resist purchasing fuel at inflated prices when cheaper, high-quality alternatives are readily available.
