Governor, Dauda Lawal,of Zamfara State, has launched a €5.1 million European Union (EU)-funded project aimed at strengthening peace, stability and resilience in conflict-affected communities in the state.
The project, known as the Conflict Prevention, Crisis Response and Resilience (CPCRR), was unveiled at the Rescue Hall, Government House, Gusau. This was contained in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr Gautier Mignot, was present at the launch of the 18-month project. According to the statement, the project is funded by the EU and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with Mercy Corps and the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD).
