In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As Muslims around the world celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid al‑Fitr, I extend my warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, across Africa, and throughout the world.
Eid al-Fitr marks the successful completion of the sacred month of Ramadan, a period devoted to fasting, prayer, reflection, and compassion for humanity. It is a moment of gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting us the strength and guidance to observe this holy obligation and for the opportunity to renew our faith and spiritual commitment.
The lessons of Ramadan—patience, sacrifice, generosity, and empathy for the less privileged—must not end with the month. Rather, they should continue to guide our daily lives as we work together to build stronger communities grounded in peace, justice, and mutual respect.
At this significant moment, I encourage all citizens to uphold the values of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. Our diversity should remain our greatest strength, and through dialogue, understanding, and collective responsibility, we can contribute meaningfully to the progress and stability of our nation and the African continent.
Let us also remember those who are facing hardship and extend our hands of kindness and solidarity to them. The true spirit of Eid lies in sharing, compassion, and uplifting the vulnerable among us.
On behalf of the Advisory Board of the International Human Rights Commission (Nigeria), I wish all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration.
May Almighty Allah accept our fasting and prayers, forgive our shortcomings, and bless our families, our nation, and humanity with lasting peace, prosperity, and harmony.
Eid Mubarak.
