The Principal Private Secretary to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, Prof. Bello Ayuba has commended the President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and the national executive for taking deliberate positive steps SWAN in uplifting and building upon legacies of the founding fathers.
He expressed this on Tuesday January 20, 2025, in Kaduna, when he was formally presented with SWAN GRAND SERVICE AWARD, at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Kaduna Government House.
He expressed happiness that SWAN National President is from Kaduna State, promising to assist in whichever possible to take the association to greater heights.
The excited PPS thanked SWAN for the prestigious award, saying that it means a lot to him and he will forever cherish the honour.
Earlier in his remarks, SWAN President, Isaiah Kemje Benjamin who led the delegation to present the award, said that SWAN award is presented only to those who merit it.
“I must emphatically state that SWAN award is not for sale, it is only presented to those deserving, who have contributed to the association, or sports development in the country,” he said.
Speaking further, SWAN President added that, “Haven served in various capacities in times past and your relentless support for sports development, is among considerations that earned you the award”.
He therefore, urged him to continue the good works and support for SWAN.
President stressed that SWAN will always reach out to him to tap on his wealth of experience.
It would be recalled that Prof. Bello Ayuba was one of those nominated for the SWAN @60 Awards, held last year at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He planned to attend, but couldn’t due to circumstances beyond his control.
The recipient was a former SWAN Chairman in Bauchi State, where he contributed immensely to the association and Sports in general.
