In a move to ensure a seamless registration process for the 2026 Hajj operations, the Commissioner PRSILS of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abubakar Abubakar Yagawal, conducted a firsthand inspection of the Commission’s ICT Division.
The visit focused on assessing the operational readiness for the critical data-capturing exercise, which will oversee the registration and visa process of prospective pilgrims.
Prof. Yagawal evaluated the functionality of key infrastructure, including computer systems, biometric devices, and network support, essential for a smooth and efficient process.
During the tour, the Commissioner was briefed by the Head of the ICT Division and key technical staff on the preparations undertaken so far. He emphasized the non-negotiable priorities of data accuracy, security, and processing efficiency throughout the exercise.
“I am satisfied with the level of preparedness observed here today,” stated Prof. Yagawal. “Our commitment is to leverage technology to deliver a flawless exercise for all Nigerians. I urge the ICT team to maintain the highest professionalism and swiftly address any technical issues that may arise.”
Supervising the data capture, Mr. Saminu Babandede assured the Commissioner of his team’s full readiness and commitment to completing the exercise within the stipulated timeline.
