The candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Yola North, Yola South and Girei Federal Constituency, Aliyu Mohammed Sarkin Mota, has said he joined the race to bring development and succour to the people of his constituency.
Sarkin Mota spoke in an interview with newsmen shortly after collecting his certificate as the party’s candidate at the dinner of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the NDC national secretariat Abuja.
He said as a successful businessman, the time has come for him to join politics to help salvage the situation in his constituency.
“I am in this race to bring succour to my people by working hard to bring development to the area. As a successful businessman, it is time to get involved in politics and help salvage the situation,” he said.
On youth unemployment, the candidate said he would focus on sustainable empowerment rather than unrealistic promises.
“I cannot promise automatic employment for all youths, but I can guarantee that empowerment and job creation through business for wealth creation will be done,” he stated.
He described the NDC as a party for all Nigerians, ready to rescue the country and bring the much-needed change.
“The NDC belongs to Nigerians and it is ready to salvage the situation. The party is not for the South alone but for the entire nation, and it is ready to bring progress and development,” he said.
Sarkin Mota called on youths across the country to support the party at all levels, noting that its leaders are prepared to change the current situation and proffer solutions to the lingering challenges bedevilling Nigeria.
He added that as a youth, he is passionate about building people, especially young Nigerians, to make them self-reliant.
“As a youth, I have passion for building people, especially other youths, to make them self-reliant. A vote for NDC is a vote for progress,” he said.
