ABUJA — NNPC Retail Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to gender inclusion and women empowerment with the successful hosting of the second edition of its flagship initiative, She-Fix 2.0, in Abuja. In a press release made available to enterprisenewsglobal said he eveynt, organised by the retail arm of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, brought together over 300 women professionals, entrepreneurs, young technicians, and industry leaders under the theme “Driving Diversity, Powering Progress.”
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, described inclusion as a critical driver of national development and called for expanded opportunities for women in technical and STEM-related fields. She commended NNPC Retail for spearheading the initiative and urged stronger collaboration between the government and private sector to scale its impact.
In her keynote address, Sophia Mbakwe, Executive Vice President, Business Services at NNPC Limited, highlighted the growing influence of women across all levels of the organisation. She noted that NNPC Retail, as the company’s primary interface with the public, plays a crucial role in advancing diversity and inclusion.
The Managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited, Huub Stokman, represented by Executive Director, Finance, Valentina Kojo, emphasised that women empowerment must be practical, visible, and sustainable to achieve meaningful results.
Also speaking, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Limited, Andy Odeh, said women are increasingly shaping the future of the energy industry. According to him, women are not only leading change but also building institutions and redefining narratives in a rapidly evolving sector.
The event featured panel discussions, live car care demonstrations, a marketplace showcasing female-led businesses, and networking sessions. Participants also benefitted from interactive engagements and promotional offers on Oleum Lubricants and NR-GAS LPG products.
The panel session included prominent female leaders such as Emmanuella Arukwe, Maryamu Idris, Oremeyi Akah, Toyin Alasi, and Adaeze Nwakoby, who shared insights across energy, finance, technology, and corporate governance.
The She-Fix 2.0 initiative builds on the success of its inaugural 2025 edition held in Lagos and reflects NNPC Retail’s expanding commitment to fostering opportunities and delivering lasting impact for women across Nigeria’s energy value chain.
