The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Isa Ashiru, has urged Muslim faithful across Kaduna State and Nigeria to use the occasion of the Maulud celebration to offer fervent prayers for economic recovery, improved security and a better future for all citizens.
Ashiru, in a goodwill message marking the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), called on Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of compassion, justice, humility, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence.
He urged the faithful to pray for leaders at all levels of government and for divine intervention in the country’s economic challenges, particularly the rising cost of living and the difficulties confronting families, workers, farmers, businesses and young people.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday, by the Spokesman to the ADC gubernatorial candidate, Rt. Hon. Isa Ashiru, Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi.
“As we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), let us renew our commitment to the values of peace, justice, compassion and service to humanity which he exemplified.
“At this difficult moment, we must continue to pray for economic recovery, improved security and an end to the hardship confronting millions of Nigerians. We must also pray for wisdom for our leaders to make decisions that will improve the welfare and dignity of our people.”
Ashiru also called for sustained efforts to address insecurity, stressing that meaningful economic development cannot be achieved where citizens are unable to live, work and pursue their legitimate businesses in safety.
He appealed to Muslim faithful to use the occasion to promote unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, regardless of political, ethnic or religious differences.
The ADC gubernatorial candidate further urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a society where government is accountable, institutions work effectively and citizens have equal opportunities to prosper.
He expressed confidence that with responsible leadership, purposeful governance and the collective prayers and support of citizens, Nigeria can overcome its present challenges and return to the path of sustainable growth and development.
Ashiru wished Muslim faithful in Kaduna State and across Nigeria a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration, urging them to continue to uphold the teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
