Hon. Atiku Abubakar Saleh, ADC senatorial aspirant for Zamfara Central, has donated two Umrah seats to outstanding students of Nasiha Islamic Center, Madarasatu Nasihatil Islamiyah, and pledged to pay the school’s teachers’ salaries for one year.
The donations were announced during the Islamic school’s graduation ceremony in Gusau, where two students were recognised for their academic excellence.
The gesture is expected to support the students’ religious aspirations while providing financial assistance to the school and its teachers.
The ceremony attracted prominent dignitaries, including Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal Dare; Senator Hassan Nasiya; Grand Khadi Dr. Dahihu Muhammad; Sheikh Abubakar Muhammad Sodangi; Malam Aliyu Shehu Gusau; and Malam Hadi Sulaiman Gusau.
Also in attendance were the Emir of Katsinan Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello II, Hon. Kabiru Mai Palace, Hon. Sulaiman Adamu Gumi, and the state Commissioner for Education, among other guests.
Sale, who holds the traditional title of Turakin Ruwan Doruwa, is seeking the ADC ticket for the Zamfara Central Senatorial District.
His donations at the graduation ceremony highlight the role of private contributions in supporting Islamic education, recognising student achievement and sustaining teachers’ welfare.
The one-year salary commitment, if fully implemented, would provide financial support to the school’s teaching staff and potentially help strengthen the institution’s educational activities.
