In a show of solidarity and appreciation, a high-powered delegation from Bagwai and Shanono Local Government Areas of Kano State paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin Maliya. The delegation, led by former House of Representatives member Hon. Farook Lawan, comprised youths, elders, and women from across the federal constituency.
The visit was aimed at expressing gratitude for Senator Barau Jibrin’s unwavering support and numerous empowerment initiatives that have positively impacted not only Bagwai and Shanono but the entire Kano State. The delegation lauded his commitment to grassroots development and his proactive approach to addressing the needs of his constituents.
In his remarks, Hon. Farook Lawan commended Senator Barau for his decisive role in restoring peace, hope, and stability during recent security challenges that affected the region. He highlighted the senator’s extensive contributions, including the construction of boreholes, schools, hospitals, and roads, as well as the provision of scholarships, employment opportunities, food items, fertilizers, vehicles, and direct financial support to the people.
The delegation unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for President in 2027 and Senator Barau Jibrin as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Kano State Governorship election, pledging their full support for his ambition. They also declared their backing for Hon. Farook Lawan as their choice to represent Bagwai and Shanono Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
In his response, Senator Barau Jibrin expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and the overwhelming support. He reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people, emphasizing that his mission is to uplift lives through meaningful empowerment and development projects. He assured the delegation of his continued efforts to enhance security and implement policies that directly benefit the people of Kano State.
The visit concluded on a high note, symbolizing a renewed bond between the Deputy Senate President and the people of Bagwai and Shanono, as well as a shared vision for a more prosperous Kano State.
