As the drums of politics starts to beat in some parts of the country, a significant political development is poised to reshape the landscape of Zamfara State, as former political office holders from various parties have begun aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), following a high level interactive session led by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Saleh, the Baraden Maru and Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the ADC.
The meeting, which brought together ex-members of the State House of Assembly, former commissioners, special advisers, and local government chairman and councillors, served as a platform for dialogue, reflection, and strategic planning. These seasoned political actors, representing diverse political backgrounds, engaged in robust discussions on how best to collaborate with the ADC in its mission to deliver transformative leadership in Zamfara.
Atiku Abubakar Saleh, whose name has become synonymous with grassroots mobilization used the occasion to articulate the party’s core values and its commitment to inclusive governance. He emphasized that the ADC is not merely a political party, but a people driven movement anchored on transparency, accountability, and national renewal.
“The ADC stands for good governance, love for women and youths, and a renewed focus on economic revival especially at this critical period of our national history when insecurity has become the order of the day,” he declared.
He further appealed to the former office holders to bring their wealth of experience and networks to bear in strengthening the party’s structures and expanding its reach. He also called on the youth and women of Zamfara to rally behind the ADC, stressing that their support is essential to building a peaceful and prosperous future.
“We cannot build a better Zamfara without the energy of our youth and the wisdom of our women. Your support is the foundation upon which we will construct a new era of peace, prosperity, and progress,” he urged.
The interactive session was part of a broader series of consultations spearheaded by the Baraden Maru Youths Coalition Consultations Team (BMYCCT), which has been instrumental in mobilizing support for the ADC across Zamfara’s fourteen Local Government Areas.
These engagements have already yielded significant results, with numerous stakeholders pledging allegiance to the party under Atiku Abubakar Saleh’s leadership.
Hon. Anas Ibrahim Diila, State Chairman of the BMYCCT, expressed deep appreciation for the Baraden Maru’s tireless efforts:
“We are profoundly grateful to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Saleh for his unwavering commitment, vision, and dedication to the growth of the party. His engagement with our people was not only inspiring but also a testament to his belief in inclusive leadership.”
The success of the meeting was further bolstered by the contributions of Hon. Shehu Maishanu, the Zamfara State Coalition Leader, who was commended for his resilience and strategic coordination. Hon. Kabiru Garba Gusau, the State Chairman of the ADC, also received accolades for his steady leadership and commitment to party unity.
As the ADC continues to gain momentum in Zamfara, the leadership of Atiku Abubakar Saleh stands as a beacon of hope and a rallying point for those seeking a new political direction.
