The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially unveiled Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as its new National Chairman, calling on Nigerians to register and vote for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the party’s headquarters in Abuja just three days after its national convention, marked a new chapter for the PRP. In his acceptance speech, Dr. Hakeem emphasized that the party remains the only credible platform capable of rescuing Nigeria from what he described as the “grip of the ruling party.”
He acknowledged the financial challenges facing the PRP compared to larger political parties but expressed confidence that with the support of Nigerians and the media, the party would ignite a process of genuine change. “We may not be financially buoyant, but we are rich in ideas, unity, and commitment to the people,” he said.
Dr. Hakeem also urged the electorate to resist the temptation of selling their votes, stressing that the PRP is not for sale. “This party is united, principled, and remains the only leading party that has stayed true to its values,” he declared.
During the symbolic handover, the outgoing National Chairman, Alhaji Falalu Bello, presented the PRP Key to Dr. Hakeem. Bello noted that Baba-Ahmed’s emergence at the convention was a reflection of the party’s collective will, describing him as “the right man to move the party forward.”
The event was attended by party stalwarts, supporters, and members of the press, signaling renewed energy within the PRP as it prepares for the upcoming elections.
