Thousands of supporters on Thursday thronged Freedom Square, Gusau, Zamfara State, for the Inauguration of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, campaign Committee for Zamfara State.
The party’s senatorial candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Sale, who holds the traditional titles of Baraden Maru and Turakin Ruwan Dorowa, addressed the massive crowd saying that their presence clearly showed that the ADC is the most dominant party in the state and is poised for victory. He condoled with families of victims of recent killings in Maru and other parts of the state.

He urged the people to vote for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as President and for all ADC candidates in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Hon. Sale said if elected, the ADC presidential candidate will restore security, reduce hardship and bring down the price of fuel. According to him, even if ending insecurity and reducing fuel price are the only achievements of an Atiku presidency, he will ensure they are accomplished by Allah’s grace.
“If the ADC is brought to power, it will put an end to corruption and insecurity. By Allah’s grace, we will do it,” he said.
The senatorial candidate thanked the people for their overwhelming support and assured them of quality representation if elected emphasising the need to ensure that all the party candidates are elected into the state and national assembly so as to help bring laws and policies that will change the lives of the people.
He called on the electorate to support the party’s governorship candidate in Zamfara, Alhaji Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, describing him as a man with proven capacity to bring change to the state. He also urged them to protect their votes and shun those who will attempt to buy their votes and conscience.
“Our Gubernatorial candidate is a very patient man, and I’m very sure he will do everything humanly possible to secure and transform this state” he said.
Speaking to our correspondent, a staunch supporter of the ADC, Mallam Sulaiman Ibrahim Maradun, said they have been to mobilising en masse to ensure victory for all ADC candidates.
Similarly, Aishatu Salisu Anka said women in the state are fully behind the ADC and will mobilise other women across the zone to vote for the party.
Also speaking in an interview, Mallam Ibrahim Sale, said supporters will ensure their votes are protected, while calling on women to reject the ruling party which, according to him, does not mean well for the state.
The flag-off was attended by party stakeholders, candidates of the ADC across the zone and thousands of supporters, both men and women.
