Member of the House of Representatives representing Alkaleri and Kirfi constituencies in Bauchi State, Hon. Kabiru Yusuf Alhaji, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is ready to welcome the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Muhammad (popularly known as Kauran Bauchi), into the party.
Hon. Kabiru Alhaji made this statement while speaking to journalists in his office at the National Assembly in Abuja.
The lawmaker, who represents the Governor’s constituency in the House of Representatives, said that considering the Governor’s achievements and hard work even though he is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) there is no doubt that if Kauran Bauchi join forces with the President by moving to APC, it will further strengthen the party in Bauchi State.
According to him, the APC National Chairman and the Governor of Kano State recently visited Bauchi to meet with Governor Bala Muhammad in an effort to persuade him to join the party.
He added that this is why the opposition party, ADC, is also seeking to bring him under its umbrella, with former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, leading an ADC delegation to woo Governor Bala Muhammad.
Furthermore, the lawmaker confirmed that APC in Bauchi State is united and fully prepared to face the upcoming 2027 elections, God willing.
In addition, Vice President Kashim Shettima also called on the Governor to join the APC,
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas and other prominent APC Lawmakers met with the Governor to also persuade him to join APC.
The lawmaker thereafter called on his constituents and the people of Bauchi State to continue supporting them in order to achieve success.
