Governor Umaru Dikko Radda of Katsina State has stated that as a beneficiary of the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s goodwill, he will never betray the former leader’s family in any way.
Governor Radda made this known when he received a delegation of APC stakeholders from the Daura, Mai’adua, and Sandamu Federal Constituency, who paid him a visit to introduce Yusuf Buhari, the son of the late Muhammadu Buhari, as an aspirant from the constituency.
The governor recounted how he had benefited from the late President since 2015..
“I can never betray Buhari’s family. I have been a beneficiary of his good reputation since the days of the CPC to date. Buhari is late now, May his soul rest in peace. Therefore, I wish Yusuf well and all the best in your political pursuit” he said.
He explained that in a democratic setting, the APC will not prevent anyone from contesting because Yusuf Buhari is in the race, noting that Yusuf’s father had contested alongside many others before eventually winning, therefore, ‘everyone is free to contest.’
The Governor urged Yusuf to build a name for himself as he ventures into politics.
Earlier in his remarks, Yusuf Buhari thanked the stakeholders from the federal constituency and pledged not to let them down. He said the support he has been receiving from constituents has been very encouraging and assured them that he would justify their confidence by meeting their expectations.
Yusuf Buhari and the stakeholders also paid a visit to the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman, as part of his tour to seek blessings ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries and the 2027 general elections.
