The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has emerged as one of the leading voices at the ongoing NOG Energy Week 2026, with Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, showcasing the remarkable progress the national energy company has recorded since he assumed office.
Delivering the keynote at the opening of the summit, Ojulari called for stronger collaboration among governments, investors, regulators, national oil companies, financiers and technology providers to unlock Africa’s vast energy potential. He stressed that sustainable growth would only be achieved through strategic partnerships across the energy value chain.
‘’ I have been convinced that performance and transparency and accountability are the fundamental foundation upon which sustainable energy prosperity must be given. No nation, no company and no institution can run the energy potential in isolation.’’ He stated.
His address also highlighted NNPC Limited’s impressive performance over the past year. Under his leadership, Nigeria’s crude oil production has risen to 1.71 million barrels per day—the highest level in five years—while gas production has increased to 7.5 billion standard cubic feet per day. The company has also restored full monthly remittances to the Federation Account, achieved 100 per cent compliance with Joint Venture cash call obligations, improved crude export terminal recovery to 98 per cent, signed major gas supply agreements valued at over $20 billion, and strengthened transparency through regular business performance reporting and investor engagements.
Beyond the GCEO’s presentation, NNPC Limited has remained highly visible throughout the conference. The company is leading strategic conversations on strengthening Africa’s local content alliances, with discussions focusing on harmonising local content policies, promoting cross-border investments, accelerating technology transfer, developing skilled manpower and expanding opportunities for indigenous energy companies across the continent.
The Nigerian Content Strategic Panel Session, moderated by NNPC’s Diplomatic Relations Adviser, Hadassah Hussaini, brought together representatives of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), the African Local Content Association and Namibia’s Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy to chart practical pathways for deeper regional cooperation.

As the 25th edition of NOG Energy Week continues in Abuja, NNPC Limited’s robust participation and Ojulari’s reform-driven leadership are reinforcing the company’s growing profile as a catalyst for Nigeria’s energy transformation and a key driver of Africa’s evolving energy future.
