The third edition Comptroller General Of Customs (CGC) Volleyball Premier League
1st phase served off in Abuja on Monday June 15, 2026, with teams putting up brilliant performances both in male and female categories.
In the male category, Nigeria Correctional Service subdued UCEM Volleyball Club 3-1 in a four set game.
The first set ended 21-25, others at the end on the scoreboard, showed
25-20, 25-21 and 25-22 in a dramatic comeback after losing the first set.
Defence Spikers failed to hold on to their steam in the first set, losing to CNS Spikers 2-3 in the battle on the courts at the Indoor Sports Hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium.
The breakdown of the results shows first set: 25-20, others were
12-25, 25-23, 22-25 and 15-17.
In another exciting five-set thriller, Life Camp VC could not sustain initial power fire as they were outgunned by the Nigeria Police 2-3, despite smiling to victory in the first two sets.
Results from the sets were, 25-19, 25-21, 13-25, 20-25 and
10-15.
Perhaps, the most watched match was the friendly battle between Nigeria Customs Service and NSCDC, which ended 3-1, with the winners coming from behind to steal the show after narrowly losing the first set.
The scoreboard at end of each set, revealed the following scores, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17 and 31-29.
The match between Offa VC versus Ajase Ipo ended 3-1.
First set, 25-19, second set 25-17, third set, 22-25 and fourth, 25-20.
COAS Spikers square up against Kano Pillars summed up male encounters for the day, ending 3-1.
Breakdown shows, 25-17, 25-18, 17-25 and 25-17.
In the Women league, VIP & Partners trounced Kada Emeralds 3-0 in the first game.
Though Kada reached 20 points in each game, they could not subdue the VIP ladies, with the scores showing 25-21, 25-22 and 25-22.
The Nigeria Customs Service team in their match with Benue Queens, wasted no time in dismissing their opponents in three straight sets 3-0.
First set, 25-13, second set, 25-22 and third set, 25-10.
Olalomi Royal Angels could not withstand the Fire Service even though they drew the first blood, as they were quenched by 1-3.
First set, 26-24, second, 25-27, third, 25-27 and 16-25
CNS Spikers drowned Excelsior 3-0 in their game, wining 25-10, 25-8 and 25-18.
In the last female game, NAF Rockets flew at half mast, falling to Life Camp 2-3.
First set, 22-25, second set, 21-25, third, 25-9, fourth, 25-19 and fifth, 7-15.
