As teams battle for supremacy at the ongoing Third Edition Customs Comptroller General Premier Volleyball League, the Police Force male team is optimistic of a good outing despite losing one of three games played.
Coach of the team, Taiwo Oladipupo expressed this in an interview with newsmen after his team’s victory over Ajase Ipo Volleyball Club on Wednesday at the Indoor Hall, National Stadium Abuja.
“As I said, we are going to take all the matches one after the other so this is a league, we are playing our seven matches and we take the matches one after the other.
“Although we have lost one, it’s a good result. The team that we lost to, they are good side so it’s still a good one so,” he said.
Meanwhile, in Wednesday’s male matches, Ajase Ipo fell to Nigeria Police 1-3, 19-25, 22-25, 23-25
and 15-25.
In another male outing, CNS Spikers subdued Sunshine Spikers 3-0, 25-15, 25-15 and
25-17.
In the final male encounter, Kano Pillars whipped Offa VC 3-0, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-23.
In the female fixture, Fire Service beat Anambra Queens 4-1.
First set ended 26-24, second, 23-25, third, 20-25, fourth, 25-14 and fifth, 15-8.
Life Camp VC fell to COAS Spikers 0-3, 11-25, 14-25 and 16-25.
In the star female match of the day, Customs and NSCDC sweat it out in a four-set thriller, with the former winning the game 3-1, to sum up activities on Day 3.
Matches are expected to resume by 8am on Day 4, Thursday at the same venue.
The first set ended 25-17, second, 25-13, third, 20-25 and the last set ended 25-18, with Maryam Ibrahim from Customs emerging the MVP of the match.
