Table toppers, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Spikers maintained their winning streak at the Third Edition Customs Comptroller General Premier Volleyball League 2026, ongoing at the Indoor Hall, National Stadium Abuja.
The fifth male match of the day on Thursday, saw the COAS Spikers get a 3-0 win over tough side, Police Machines.
Despite putting up a good fight, Police Machine could not match the fire power of their opponents, who dominated the game from the blast of the whistle.
The first set ended 25-22, second set, 25-16 and the third, 25-20.
In an interview with newsmen, COAS Spikers coach, Elishama Elam said that he is grateful to God for winning all matches so far.
“Well, first and foremost, I have to appreciate God for making it this way. The guys are actually going out and they want to make a statement.
“I hope they will sustain it. However, we just started. We still have eight matches to go. So my prayer is there should be no injury,” he said.
Speaking further, he said that his boys are playing according to instructions.
“Normally there should be a pre-match meeting before coming and they know why they are here. I talk less, unlike the way you used to know me before.
“For this, I talk less because they are here for business and I just pray they should sustain it,” he explained.
On his expectations at the end of the league, he was optimistic of victory.
“That’s everybody’s, every coach’s prayer. There is no coach that comes for this league that is not after winning. But I pray at the end, God will give me victory,” he prayed.
