Women and youth across Nigeria have been called upon to rise and actively participate in the nation’s political activities, as leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) emphasize inclusivity and empowerment.
Speaking to newsmen, in his office in Abuja, the National Youth Leader of ADC, Comrade Balarabe Rufai, stressed that the time has come for Nigerian youths to stand firm and claim their rightful place in governance. He highlighted that ADC, being a party for both the young and the elderly, protects the franchise of all citizens to vote and be voted for. To further encourage participation, Rufai revealed that the party has introduced a 75% discount on nomination forms, ensuring affordability for young aspirants.
Speaking about the ongoing court cases, he urged Nigerians to remain calm and committed to the ideals of the party, assuring that ADC is working diligently to resolve the issues.
From Malumfashi Kafur Federal Constituency, Rukayya Lamido Dodo charged Nigerian women to unite in defense of their rights. She lamented that despite women casting the majority of votes, their interests remain underrepresented, often leaving them as “foot soldiers” while men reap the benefits.
Rukayya called for solidarity among women to change the narrative by supporting female candidates in elective positions. She pledged to dedicate herself to ensuring rural communities benefit from democracy, noting that poverty and hardship have persisted for too long.

Similarly, ADC gubernatorial aspirant from Nasarawa State, Barrister Muhammad Abdullahi, appealed to electorates to vote wisely, describing ADC as the only party capable of salvaging Nigeria from political injustice.
He emphasized that the party prioritizes the masses and provides equal opportunities for eligible contestants.

From Gombe, Adamu Muhammad urged voters to choose candidates with genuine concern for the people rather than selfish interests. He encouraged citizens to support leaders with strong manifestos for sustainable development.

In Borno State’s Jere Federal Constituency, Muhammad Jibrin Azrak appealed to women and youth to actively engage in politics, stressing that they are the pillars of socio-economic and political progress. Without their participation, he argued, the desired change would remain a mirage.

Also, Zulkiflu Dalhatu, aspiring for the House of Representatives from Zamfara State, advised youths to exercise their voting rights responsibly. He urged Nigerians to come out en masse, fight against injustice, and vote for the right candidates, noting that low voter turnout has hindered sustainable development in the country.
