Mallam Jafaru Muhammed Sani, National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has extended warm Eid El-Fitr greetings to Muslims across Nigeria, urging unity, peace, and steadfastness in the face of national challenges.
In his goodwill message marking the end of Ramadan, Sani emphasized the values of sacrifice, compassion, and togetherness that the holy month instills. He prayed for Nigeria’s progress and stability, calling on citizens to remain hopeful as the ADC positions itself for the 2027 elections.
Beyond his festive message, Sani strongly condemned what he described as the “unjust detention” of Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State and a senior figure in the ADC. He urged the judiciary and government agencies to uphold fairness and the rule of law, warning that arbitrary detention of opposition leaders undermines democracy and signals a drift toward authoritarianism.
“The ADC condemns these actions in the strongest terms,” Sani declared, stressing that democracy thrives on respect for fundamental rights, due process, and tolerance of dissenting voices.
He also encouraged Nigerians, particularly ADC supporters, to participate actively in the party’s ongoing membership registration exercise and to ensure that upcoming ward, local government, and state congresses are conducted peacefully and fairly.
“As we celebrate this Sallah, let us renew our commitment to justice, democracy, and unity,” Sani said. “Together, we can build a Kaduna State and Nigeria that reflect the hopes and aspirations of its people.”
